About

Howzit! I'm Angus Hamilton, an Industrial Designer from Cape Town, South Africa.

As the son of a structural engineer and a visual artist, I grew up either in front of a screen gaming, fiddling with software, or with my head inside a computer box tinkering with hardware.

I found Industrial Design by chance, signing up for a degree which I thought was 3D game design. However, once enrolled I discovered my passion for the art of bringing ideas to life.

My career started at my dads engineering firm, where I sharpened my CAD draughting & technical skills. Along with a small stint in Mechanical Engineering I also honed in a keen eye for detail.

I had always freelanced since studying and thus embarked on this journey of self employment in 2016 under this eponymous brand. The aim - to offer my Industrial Design skills & services where ever required.

Since then I’ve had opportunities in a variety of areas such as the ones you see on here. This site features a curation of projects to showcase my skills and the collaborations I have been involved in so far.

The area may change but the goal is the same - use a 3D-centric practical design approach to each project, weaving the realms of my experience: functionality, structure, and aesthetics.

When not at my desk or in the workshop you can find me in nature with my dogs, catching a wave at the nearest beach, or relaxing having a cold one with friends and family.
